What Counts As A Roofing Emergency?

An active leak, storm or wind damage exposing the deck, a tree or debris impact, or any situation where water is actively entering the property. Call (954) 588-5670 any time — we tarp and stabilize first, then schedule the permanent repair.

Emergency Roofing — In Depth

What Qualifies As A Roofing Emergency

An active leak actively letting water into the living space, storm or wind damage that has exposed the roof deck, impact damage from a fallen tree limb or debris, or any situation where the roof’s ability to keep water out has been compromised right now — these all qualify as emergencies needing same-day attention. If you’re unsure, call — we’d rather assess it than have you wait on damage that’s getting worse.

What To Do Immediately After Storm Damage

Stay off the roof and away from any visibly damaged structural area. Inside, move valuables away from active leaks and place a container to catch water if safe to do so. Photograph visible damage from the ground and from inside where water is entering — this documentation matters both for us and for any insurance claim. Then call — we prioritize active water intrusion and typically respond the same day.

Our Emergency Response Process

We dispatch to stabilize the situation — typically tarping and securing exposed areas to stop water intrusion immediately, a temporary but critical measure that buys time until a full permanent repair. We document everything with photos as part of the response, supporting your insurance claim if you choose to file one. Once the immediate threat is addressed, we schedule the permanent repair or a full replacement assessment if warranted.

Working With Your Insurance Company

Storm and wind damage claims move more smoothly when damage is well-documented and the repair scope is clearly justified. We document thoroughly at the time of emergency response and again during the permanent repair estimate. While we’re not your adjuster, we can walk you through what we found so the scope discussed with your insurer reflects what the roof actually needs.

Preparing Your Roof Before Hurricane Season

Get a full inspection ahead of hurricane season to catch loose tiles, aging flashing, and weak points before wind and rain find them. Clear gutters and downspouts. Trim back tree limbs that could become projectiles or cause impact damage. Keep inspection and repair documentation on file — it establishes a clear “before” condition if you ever need to file a claim.

Move valuables away from the leak, place a container to catch water if it’s safe to do so, and avoid walking on a wet or storm-damaged roof yourself.
No — taking reasonable steps to prevent further damage is generally expected by insurers. We document the tarping to support your claim, not complicate it.
We prioritize active water intrusion and typically respond the same day for genuine emergencies.
